Essay Writing

Remember to have your complete outline and rough draft ready for "TUESDAY" -- also remember I will be giving homework on Monday for Tuesday -- so if you don't want double homework, turn your outline and rough draft in on Monday.

If you have forgotten the essay prompt, here it is again:

Many parents do not allow their children to play with toy guns. In your opinion, is this a wise decision? Explain what you think parents should do about toy guns and why.  Use specific reasons and examples in your answer.

Homework for Sept. 11th:

Write the definitions and a sentence for each of the following words:

• Cower 
• Hidey-schools
• Frotched  (this one is hard to find -- it means "gathered material")
• Gaggle 
• Brimstone 
• Cracker 
• Extremity 
• Pitch
• Hand 
• Bramble 

Then write a grabber (a sentence that "grabs" your attention -- quote, interesting fact, question) and a thesis statement on slavery (should a slave escape or stay on the plantation).
